Emerald Pond on Slickrock Creek in Texas Hill Country, featuring crystal-clear spring-fed water, native grasses, limestone shoreline, and reflections of the surrounding landscape.

SLICKROCK CREEK PHOTO ADVENTURE

Spend a day photographing a place few people will ever see. This is not a workshop held in a classroom. It is a rare invitation into a photographer’s private adventure.

Hidden among the spring-fed waters, limestone banks, and native woodlands of the Texas Hill Country lies Slickrock Creek—a private landscape that has inspired photographer Kevin Vandivier for decades.

This exclusive photographic adventure is limited to just four participants and offers rare access to private property, scenic creek vistas, wildlife photography opportunities, hummingbirds, nature trails, and hidden locations not open to the public.

Throughout the day, guests will explore the creek, photograph crystal-clear pools, discover intimate landscape details, and experience the beauty of the Texas Hill Country at a relaxed pace. Along the way, Kevin will share stories from assignments for National Geographic Society, Smithsonian Magazine, Life Magazine, Newsweek, and Texas Highways, offering insights into the art of visual storytelling and seeing the world through a photographer’s eyes.

Wildlife, landscapes, abstract details, and hidden scenes found along Slickrock Creek.

A gourmet Hill Country lunch is included, along with opportunities to photograph birds and wildlife from a dedicated photography blind overlooking the creek. As evening approaches, participants can enjoy the warm light of sunset and the possibility of photographing foxes, raccoons, and other wildlife that regularly visit the property.

This is not a workshop.

There are no classrooms, lectures, or rigid schedules.

It is a day of exploration, photography, storytelling, nature, and adventure in one of the hidden corners of the Texas Hill Country.

Whether you are an accomplished photographer or simply someone who loves making photographs, the Slickrock Creek Photo Adventure offers a rare opportunity to experience photography the way it was meant to be experienced—through discovery, curiosity, and connection to a remarkable place.

Access is limited because this adventure partially takes place on private property not normally open to photographers.
